Much needed update

It's been awhile since I've updated the blog. Since we returned from vacation, life has been a bit of a blur. Really, really busy pretty much sums it up. But, we've had a few noteworthy events. First, Jon shot a turkey! Turkey hunting is always an important time of year in our house. It's filled with Jon practicing his calls, Aspen sniffing over all the hunting gear, and Abra being roused from her deep sleep at 4AM as Jon is leaving the house. Jon has a hunting season in both Wisconsin and Minnesota. Right now we are in between those season. When we were out for Chinese last weekend Jon's fortune said "Two lucky things will happen." Jon interpreted this as meaning he will shoot 2 turkeys. One down, one to go.

I'm always excited about spending time with my niece, Felicity. Her and I reached a new milestone in our relationship when we went on our first outing ALONE. I took her to the new playground in Red Wing. Boy is that kid a dare devil! She wanted to go down all the slides head first. Plus she's recently found her legs and took off running for the swings. The problem is she ran right for the big kids who were trying to swing over the bars. I reached her right before she got sent across the playground by some 6th grader (I hope Jessie isn't reading this). We also did a little bit of gardening (i.e. ate dirt) and of course Felicity got to spend time with her favorite Red Wing resident, Uncle Jon (not Elton John). Hopefully she'll be back to visit us soon!

Finally, I was able to spend an evening with my BFF Gergs. We've known eachother since the 7th grade. Pretty cool. We went to a fun pub in Northfield to catch up.

Hi Abra,

Great blog!!.

I stumbled across it by accident, and it's a real treat.

Love the hunting pics too. The Grouse and duck hunting ones are particularly good. I would have posted you a few of mine, but I couldn't find an e-mail address on your blog.

Regards,

Julian.
P.S. Is that a Remington pump you're hunting with?.
